Family friend Henry Mancini, upon hearing
Lisa at the piano as a child, recommended she
attend the Juilliard School of Music. However, "Lisa
Jill" was already a child actress at this time. So she
simply played the piano at every opportunity,
including some memorable duets with Jack Lemmon on the
set of "The Fortune Cookie," in which Lisa played Walter
Matthau's daughter. Legendary writer and director Billy
Wilder described Lisa as "a combination
of Marilyn Monroe and Carol Burnett, with musical
talent, as well." Although Lisa's formal music training was
limited, her musical passion and imagination was unlimited.
Here is Lisa in an episode of The Partridge Family (she’s
the girl in the middle):
The piano remained Lisa's "Sanctuary" throughout her life, as she relied on a career in real estate to help raise her six children. She continued to express her deepest emotions through her compositions, and her technical prowess as a pianist also continued to grow. Everyone who heard Lisa's music recognized that her true calling was to share this music with the world. This was also Lisa's own personal dream.
Just as her six children were nearly all grown, Lisa met Jeff Linsky, an internationally celebrated guitarist, recording artist, and award-winning composer. The two were married and began traveling the world together for Jeff's concert career. They also began to focus on Lisa's music, polishing her compositions and eventually producing Lisa's first CD, "Sanctuary," earlier this year. The wonderful response that "Sanctuary" has been receiving is an overwhelming testimony to the beauty of Lisa Linsky's musical gift to the world.
The beautiful music that comes from Lisa's heart sounds much different to her than it does to everyone else. Lisa Linsky suffers from otosclerosis, the condition that is believed to have caused Beethoven to lose his hearing. Through surgical implants in her ears, Lisa has been able to postpone deafness. Regardless of Lisa's hearing challenges, like Beethoven, the music within continues to flow.
and wrote this wonderful review:
There are few words to describe the
experience of watching a musician that is able to convey
their love for their art at a soul level, and in doing so
draw everyone in the room into the fantasy of the moment
with them. It is something that we were privileged
to experience while watching Jeff and Lisa Linsky
perform.
You can’t help but notice when watching Jeff Linsky play,
that his guitar becomes a part of him, the vessel through
which he expresses his musical passion with the world.
After watching him play, it is almost impossible to
imagine Jeff without his guitar in his hands. As an
observer, you are swept into the magical ride, never
knowing where he’s taking you, but always left breathless
for the experience of taking the ride with him.
Jeff’s beautiful wife Lisa is not only an accomplished
classical pianist, but also a delight to watch as she
performs her moving original compositions. Her endearing
personality invites you to tumble headlong into her
passion for music that she lovingly shares with her
audience. The musical stylings of Jeff and Lisa
together are a wonderful blending of their talents and
the obvious spiritual bond between them.
If you are looking for a musical experience that will
transport you into a world of tranquility, passion, and
leave you wanting more, make a date to laugh and cry with
Jeff and Lisa Linsky as they take you on an inspiring,
creative journey into the passion of their lives – the
art of making beautiful music together.
